December
born into hibernation
a world of lusterless color
revolving slowly on the same axis
illumination lost
April bursts to life
its dynamic forces
reaching deep into the soil
awakening roots
inspiring all that lies below
In time the fruit of the rousing
will look back in remembrance
knowing it once came alive
soaked in the rays of a sultry sun
