Infertility - Poems and Other Writings

These short stories and poems on infertility were born out of my own personal struggle, a struggle that far too many have or will one day face.

Plans for a life enriched by children are threatened or altered, one's sense of self and purpose can be put into question, and relationships (with self and others) often suffer the strain that sometimes separates the Haves from the Have Nots.

For me, the physical and emotional scars of infertility still faintly linger, with some days — now decades later — still tugging at that ghostly pain. As with everything in life, the choices we make, whether thoughtfully or out of a desire to avoid further pain, can haunt us if we let them. I took far too long to realize that where there is a dark void, the best choice is to try to fill it with love, joy, and light.
