Misplaced Dreams

09/18/20 Leave a Comment

The thin blue line breathed life into her dreams,
after years of her womb’s restless sleep.
As cells multiplied and grew, so did her plans,
but dark, secret fears made her weep.

Intuition whispered deep from her gut
like the tears, through each drop torn apart.
All her hopes soon were dashed with the swipe of a wand
As the scars were then placed on her heart.

The life of her dreams, just inches away,
now out of reach and hope gone.
Over the years the thin line has faded away
but the blue streak in her heart lingers on.
