Thoughts, dreams, and good intentions left scattered and unattended
like countless possessions collected then suddenly left behind.
Objects that once played a part in and knew her story,
today, without her prompting, can’t even recite their lines.
Lost too is the hope for a rich and purposeful future,
and all the messages of the heart she meant to say.
Sadly, the key to all that vanished in one fleeting moment,
locked within the hidden gifts she never gave away.
