I was initially reluctant to put this baby poem out there; it’s so brief and underdeveloped. But it’s where I was in my writing journey, so long ago.
Not every light shines brightly as soon as the switch turns on.
I’ve been so blind.
All along I knew that I would care
but deep within I knew I didn’t dare.
For if I did you’d hurt me like
the others have before.
Can it be too late to start it all again?
